Decor Handled is a New Zealand owned and operated Online Decor Business based in Auckland. The main driving force behind the brand, our Founder and CEO, is Julie. With her love for Interiors & Product Design, teaming up with Mark who's passion and forward thinking in Design and Engineering has seen business flourish. Joined by a team who are experts in their field the brand continues to grow.
Opening in 2015, after finding a gap in the market for different types of Handles for Homewares, we've gone on to quickly expand with new products being released regularly to keep up with the trends.
Manufacturing in-house from locally sourced supplies gives us an edge on quality control. Our team's strong belief in supporting local businesses and ethical products are what drives this company, along with being very environmentally conscious. We believe in using quality and tested products, as we believe our customers deserve the best.
We do not Wholesale so you wont find any Retailers with our products. This was not a decision that was made lightly, but it means we can guarantee you will always be able to purchase our products from our Website for the best price. We do attend some public Exhibiting Sales Events every year with our products so you can see them in person. The products...
All our wooden products are manufactured in house by ourselves from FSC approved NZ Pine that we hand pick ourselves. FSC stands for 'Forest Stewardship Council', and certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. Pine is classed as renewable, recyclable, carbon-efficient, low-energy and high-performance.
We use Resene paints as they have an extensive range of Environmental Choice approved paints that have been independently verified, including no added VOCs and an extensive range of low VOC products. Meaning they have low or no volatile organic compounds in them. This means they are considered safer to use indoors and don't generally cause issues from off-gassing.
Our aluminium is source from the Mill here in New Zealand and is a responsible choice as it is not only strong, durable and wont rust, but is called the green metal because it is a very environmentally friendly metal. Recycling this material saves 95% of the energy required to produce aluminium from raw materials. It is one of the most environmentally friendly metals on the planet and is a sustainable choice as it can be recylced.
We use Dulux powder coating, which is manufactured in Auckland, New Zealand. These are considered eco-friendly as they contain no harmful volatile organic solvents, and are free of heavy metal pigments such as lead, cadmium, arsenic & mercury.
We also pride ourselves on not using fancy packaging, but recyclable and biodegradable options. Our products are packaged and shipped in FSC certified cardboard, certified recycled cardboard and kraft paper, which are all eco-friendly. Recycled cardboard and paper are mainly made up of recycled paper and pulp which would otherwise go to landfill.
